The Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) proudly welcomes Dr. Waddah S. Ghanem Al Hashmi to its advisory board.
Graduated from the University of Wales College Cardiff, School of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Environmental Engineering.
Currently he is the Senior Director for Sustainability, Operational and Business Excellence for the ENOC Group and overseas all the sustainability, CSR, Energy and Resource Management and reporting as well as Business and Operational Excellence, Innovation and Process Improvement and LSS projects with the Group. He has spent the last 22 years+ from EHS Supervisor at the refinery to assistant EHS Advisor in the Group, later to grow the EHS Compliance function until he become Director, EHSQ Compliance in January 2010. He was appointed in 2015 as Executive Director, EHSSQ & Corporate Affairs and in June 2018 was given the role of Senior Director for Sustainability, Operational and Business Excellence.
Waddah holds several academic and vocational qualifications including two PG Diplomas an MSc in Environmental Sciences; an Executive MBA from and a Doctorate from the University of Bradford in the UK in 2014/2015.
His publications include various research, practitioner journal and conference papers in addition to 6 internationally published books.
He is the Vice Chairman of Dubai Carbon; a Board Member of the not-for-profit Emirates Environment Group; an Executive Committee Member (Board) the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and a Board/Council member of the Energy Institute (EI) in the UK and serves as the Hon. Chairman of the Energy Institute Middle East Branch since 2018. He is also recently appointed as the first Senior Advisor to the Board of the Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) in Dubai. He was born and is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The CEBC is a unique organisation, being one of the few industries based, not for profit associations in the Middle East and North Africa and the only organisation of its kind representing the interests of the clean energy sector across the MENA region. Our main objective is to facilitate the development of sound policy and regulation that will deepen and mature the sector. Our remit is to represent the collective views of the private sector and to offer our knowledge and collaborative efforts to government in furtherance of national aspirations to build strong clean energy industries.
The CEBC Clean Energy Advisory Board is a new venture by the Council that seeks to bring together key leading policy makers and decision makers in the clean energy sector in the region to create a body that can initiate and facilitate the high level dialogue needed to support the initiatives and solutions essential to the development of the clean energy sector in MENA.
