CEBC announces new board of directors for 2019-2020

Dubai – UAE, March 21, 2019

The Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) is proud to announce the newly elected board of directors for 2019-2020.  This year, two new members were elected to the CEBC board; Anne Le Guennec, CEO of Enova and Iwan Walters, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland,  joining ACWA Power, Dentons Dubai, ENGIE and Enerwhere..

“At Enova, we have made it our goal to advance the Facilities Management & Energy sector as a whole by pioneering innovative tools and solutions and sharing expertise and best practices on a regular basis. As such, I am excited to join the Board of the Clean Energy Business Council and making it my mission for 2019 to drive the Energy Efficiency working group.” Anne Le Guennec, CEO of Enova.

“I am delighted to be nominated as one of the new directors to join the board of CEBC. Initiatives undertaken by the CEBC, contribute to regional jurisdictions’ drive to build low-carbon economies. CEBC needs to continue to support the industry in the key growth areas in the region; being private PPAs including roof top solar, utility scale projects and energy efficiency. There is a growing desire to make localization happen and we need to assist to make sure that happens. We are also looking to take CEBC events to key jurisdictions in the region for the first time in the next 12 month period” Iwan Walters, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland.

My main goal during this mission is to continue developing the Future Mobility Club (FMC) and bring more awareness around green mobility in cities. CEBC kicked off this year with a new working group focusing on Future Mobility lead by CEBC board member, ENGIE.  The Future Mobility working group already has more than 30 industry members with a mission to address and help solve the challenges of new energy vehicles market in the region and help businesses and stakeholders collaborate. In addition to its active working groups on Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Finance with more than 100 members in total.

The Clean Energy Business Council is the pre-eminent organisation representing the private sector involved in the clean energy sector across the MENA region.  CEBC aims to establish a dialogue between the public and private sectors to drive the development of appropriate and much needed regulation and policy to support the development of this vital sector.
