Introducing CEBC’ new Managing Director – Ms. Sophie Collet

CEBC’s Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Sophie Collet to the new role of Managing Director of the Clean Energy Business Council. Ms. Collet joins the CEBC after very successful two years led by Dr. Raed Bkayrat, who has now joined CEBC senior advisory board. Dr. Bkayrat joined CEBC in December 2017 as Managing Director and has transformed the CEBC into a key thought leading organization in the region. 

Born in France, raised in Brazil, Sophie has been leading for 16 years transformation projects whether for a territory, a process, a department or a business unit.  She has started her career within the Portuguese Government (Economic Division) at the time of the EXPO 1998 in Lisbon as Responsible for the promotion of Portugal as a Foreign Direct Investment prime location, being successfully involved in the signature of some important French industrial projects namely in the automotive and aeronautical sector.

In 2002, she took the opportunity to embrace a more operational role, joining Alstom Power in Switzerland as Business Process Coordinator ensuring the interfaces in the critical components’ supply chain to answer the stringent customer’s requirements. Since 2009, she has been working for ENGIE in Paris occupying various functions always focusing on improving the business quality, Customer orientation and sustainable performance of organizations by leading structural projects at European level.

Since she was relocated in the GCC in 2015 on a long-term leave, Sophie has been an active member of the International French School Management Board in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) before moving to UAE last year. Sophie holds a Masters degree from Science Po Paris.

She holds a Master Degree from Sciences Po Paris, France. I am also very pleased to have our second woman as a managing director of the CEBC, in a field rapidly attracting talented, knowledgeable women”, adds Dr. Nasser Saidi, Chairman of CEBC.
