Message from the Chairman

Message from Dr. Nasser Saidi, Chairman of the Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC)

Dear Members, Partners and Friends of the Clean Energy Business Council,

In the current challenging times that we are facing, we, at the Clean Energy Business Council, are understandably concerned about the health of your families, your communities as well as about providing all the necessary support to ensure with you the continuity of your business.

We will continue in assisting you to promote and boost your business opportunities, to make meaningful connections and to stay up to date on the clean energy market and opportunities in the MENA region.

Nevertheless, as with all unforeseen threats, COVID-19 forces us to reevaluate habits, work patterns and to embrace a “new normal” to minimize disruption. This is the reason why, the CEBC has decided to shift all its upcoming events, activities and meetings of the working groups to be online, till further notice.

Our upcoming activities will perfectly allow us to stay connected and meet our roadmap goals for 2020. This will include:

  • Webinars series on our topics of focus for 2020: Future Mobility, Energy Efficiency, Climate and Sustainable Finance and Energy Storage.
  • Market Surveys: we are working on our annual surveys on the challenges and opportunities of Future Mobility in the MENA region and the challenges and opportunities of the Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in the MENA region.
  • Case Studies: we are continuing our support to CEBC members by publishing their successful case studies throughout the CEBC platforms.
  • White and Policy Papers: CEBC is continuing its leadership role in providing key industry best practices and policy recommendation for the mobility, climate finance and energy efficiency sectors.
  • A pilot Mentorship program is also being designed as part of the WICE program to further the participation of women in the clean energy sector. Information will be released soon.

Upcoming webinars and events will be available shortly here.

The CEBC team has always been working on a remote basis. As usual, it will actively keep the connection with you all and regularly update you. Should you have any clarifications, suggestions and ideas of topics you would need information on, please do not hesitate to contact the CEBC team at

Finally, as a support of the local authorities, we received a survey from Dubai Economy and decided to take this opportunity to share it with our members.

Dubai Economy has launched a survey to gauge the impact on your organisation as well as the awareness, readiness and responses to the outbreak.  The outcomes of the survey will be to provide more feedback and crowdsource ideas to help mitigate risks.  Click here to take our survey. The survey will not take more than 5-7 minutes.

Kind regards,

Dr. Nasser Saidi
