Ismail Chakour

Head of Structured Finance, Masdar

Ismail Chakour is currently Head of Structured Finance at Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s flagship renewable energy company. He joined Masdar in 2023, having been Director of the Power and Infrastructure advisory unit of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Dubai, where he advised clients such as Aramco, ADNOC and NEOM on power and infrastructure developments. Mr Chakour has over 10 years’ experience in advising on and structuring the financing of power and infrastructure projects in the MENA region, having led debt arrangements for a significant number of limited-recourse financings, including for Masdar, Aramco and ACWA Power. Mr Chakour holds an MSc in Metals and Energy Finance from the Imperial College London and a Grande École degree from CentraleSupélec Paris.
