ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Celebrating its 11th consecutive year, the 11th CEBC Annual Summit shines a spotlight on the MENA region’s resolute dedication to combat climate change. Under the banner of “MENA’s Climate Pledge: Amplifying Actions, Impact, and Leadership for COP28 and Beyond,” this pivotal summit serves as a potent platform. It showcases the remarkable sustainability endeavors of our member organizations and orchestrates pivotal discussions among private sector leaders, governmental entities, climate envoys, and other stakeholders. These conversations are poised to wield substantial influence over the trajectory of COP28 and spotlight the joint efforts propelling the ongoing global energy transition.
This year’s focus is laser-etched – to emphasize swift, united action and collaborative leadership in the face of the pressing climate crisis. The event, a culmination of sustained interactions with esteemed member organizations and external stakeholders, ushers forth with these key objectives:
1. Stimulate Dialogues: By fostering engaging conversations among diverse experts, the summit endeavors to raise awareness and spark enlightening exchanges across sectors and viewpoints.
2. Showcase Solutions: The summit serves as a vibrant stage for spotlighting UAE and MENA’s clean energy innovations, aligning them with COP28 objectives and the broader net-zero aspirations by 2050.
3. Provide Guidelines: Concrete pathways and recommendations will be forged to expedite the implementation of pledged initiatives, translating intentions into tangible progress for a greener MENA. Since its inception in 2012, the CEBC Annual Summit has established itself as a one-of-a-kind gathering for key decision-makers in the MENA and global renewables sectors. The yearly summit has served as a forum for discussion of the CEBC’s work’s advancement and a few of the most important issues to speed up the energy transition in the MENA region and beyond during the past ten years.
The CEBC is excited to host you in the UAE to highlight the UAE and the MENA’s potential as leaders in the global energy transition prior to the anticipated 28th edition of the Conference of the Parties to be held in Dubai in this year. The goal of the discussion will be to showcase the private sector’s efforts leading up to COP28 and position the MENA region as a powerful driver in the global climate agenda, demonstrating the capability to transition from being major oil-exporting economies to becoming leaders in clean energy laying the groundwork for sustained, impactful climate initiatives beyond.
