PRESS RELEASE: THE CEBC APPOINTS A NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
The CEBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Boushra Barakat as the new Managing Director for the Dubai-based membership non-profit association.
With full responsibility for the leadership and development of the CEBC, Boushra will be developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals, maintaining and developing interactive and trust-based relations with our members, partners, and authorities, and overseeing the organization’s operations, day-to-day operations, financial performance, working groups, and on the ground activities.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Nasser Saidi, Chair of the CEBC said: “I am delighted that Boushra will be joining us as our new Managing Director. Boushra’s professional background, extensive knowledge, and experience will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to support the MENA region to invest in clean energy and clean technologies and adapt to the challenges of the global energy transition and combating climate change. The CEBC will be accompanying and supporting our members as these new horizons unfold.”.
With over 4 years of experience in waste management, sustainability, circular economy, and reverse logistics operations research, Dr. Barakat will be leveraging her strong scientific skills to address regional sustainability issues and guide policy formulation.
Boushra Barakat joins at a key point in the CEBC’s growth, with COP27 and COP28 coming to the MENA region. The MENA’s energy transition is now witnessing a great boost and special attention from both the private and public sectors. Founded in 2011, the CEBC has been targeting the acceleration of the clean energy transition of the MENA region.
Expressing her excitement to join the CEBC as the new Managing Director, Boushra Barakat said “I am thrilled to be joining the CEBC at a moment where it is poised for further growth. I strongly believe that the successful implementation of sustainable initiatives necessitates effective coordination and communication between the various stakeholders, as well as a unified understanding between them.
