Alia Busamra
Ms. Alia Busamra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences. Alia is a successful leader with over 17 years of strong and multicultural corporate experience in the entire Oil & Gas supply chain within ENOC. This experience includes but is not limited to, profound experience in the fields of Sustainability, Environment, Energy & Resource Management, Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), Business & Operational Excellence, Performance Management, Training and Capacity Building, Research & Development, Stakeholder Engagement.
She is currently working with ENOC as Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of Group Sustainability Department to manage the key corporate functions of Environment, Energy and Resource Management, CSR and Sustainability.
Leveraging proven credibility in the field of Sustainability, she supports her candidature higher with consistent achievements in eliminating inefficiency, driving governance and advising across the gamut of Sustainability inclusive of administering periodical audits and assessments. Alia is recognized as an expert with proven success in improving and developing best practices by establishing conservational plans and sustainability performance targets. Over the years, Alia has successfully established Sustainability strategies by executing relevant policies, mandates, communicating and coordinating with the management and managing stakeholders to address sustainability issues.
Alia has a wide range of professional interests where she conducts Energy and Resource Management Audits, Environmental Impact Assessment Studies, Environmental Baseline and Waste Audits, Environmental Management Systems Compliance Reviews, Environmental and Resource Conservation Trainings for the ENOC Group of companies. In addition, she is responsible for collecting, analyzing and validating KPIs for Energy and Resource Management, Business Plans, etc. She also develops various elements of quality, environmental, energy and resource, CSR and integrated management systems for ENOC Group for continual improvement. She has imparted in-house training on various topics and has been a mentor for many UAE Nationals, aligned stakeholders and interns joining the organization.
Alia already represents ENOC as an authoritative expert on the subject in external forums and is frequently invited to present it as a keynote speaker and panelist at various national, regional and international forums. She is a member in various committees, e.g. Dubai Executive Demand Side Management Committee, Gulf Health, Safety, Sustainability & Environment Association (Board Member) and the Dubai Carbon Abatement Technical Committee. She was also a key member of the Environment Sub-Committee of Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) which has consultative status with the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
